When trying something new, it can intimidating and sometimes a bit scary. A list of what you may or may not need is the key to walking into a studio as prepared as you can be.
These 5 things will help you be as successful in your 1st class as you are in your 100th.
Being open to try something new
Clothes you are comfortable moving and sweating in
Coming to class with an open mind is the first thing on the list, because if that isn’t available then the physical items won’t help. Never be afraid to tell your teacher that this is your first yoga class. They are there to support your new journey and if you have any questions ask them before class. Don’t be afraid to ask your yoga teacher for information, help, or modifications for poses. There was a time, when they walked into their first class too.
Be comfortable in what you wear and be ready to sweat!
Mat, towels, blocks, and water are all tools to help you throughout your practice. If you don’t own these things, don’t worry! At Studio 1010, we offer blocks, bolsters, blankets, and even straps for all of our classes.
Make sure you have fun and enjoy your time on your yoga mat!
